While the storms didn’t quite reach severe levels, strong winds and moderate rainfall impacted the region Tuesday evening. Many rain gauges locally were filled between 1/4″ and 1″ of rain, including:

Lake Red Rock – 0.85″
Knoxville – .59″
Pella – .4″
Indianola – 0.36″

A wind gust of 51 MPH was reported in Knoxville, just below severe warning limits. After heat approached 100 degrees Tuesday, slightly cooler conditions are in place today and the rest of the week as daytime highs approach the upper 80s. Marginal severe weather chances return with several chances for rain as well, according to the National Weather Service, primarily in the evening and overnight both today and Thursday.
