indianola-8

The Indianola High School Softball team finished their 2022 campaign Tuesday with a 3-0 win over the ADM Tigers in the consolation bracket of the Class 4A State Tournament in Fort Dodge.

The game was dominated by pitching on both sides, as the game remained scoreless through six innings.

ADM’s starting pitcher Aliya Yanga would go five innings, striking out nine Indians along the way which was countered by Indianola’s starter Izzie Benge, who would go seven innings for the complete game shutout.

The bats remained quiet until Indianola’s Selia Becker would lead off the top of the 7th with a lead off double. Indianola would follow up Becker’s double with a pair of hits to give the Indians the 3-0 lead and eventual win.

Indianola finishes the year 28-13 overall and will say goodbye to eight seniors.
