The end of a remarkable high school competitive career at the state swimming meet brings us to No. 8 on the countdown of top moments from Pella High School in 2021-2022. Although officially part of a Newton High School team, Pella-native Hannah Nedder made it back to the state swimming meet last fall, but unlike the COVID-shortened junior attempt, the senior got to swim with Iowa’s best on November 11th and 12th — and did so with purpose. Nedder placed 3rd in her preliminary 100 yard butterfly qualifier with a personal best time of (56.45), and followed that up with a 4th place swim in the finals that Saturday. She was also a part of three top 10 relays for the NCMP Aquagirls. She was joined by Pella teammates Alexa Heiar and Maylei Ruggles. Nedder will swim with UNI this upcoming academic year.
