The 2022 baseball season had ups and downs for Indianola, with some classic team wins with clutch hitting, pitchers hitting their spots, and flawless defense combined with games where the errors piled up and the bats could not find contact.

The squad put it together in the postseason however, as they took down Ottumwa in the first round 5-1, upsetting Ankeny in the substate semifinals 8-5, then holding off Urbandale after gaining an early lead and stopped the J-Hawk comeback attempt to qualify for the class 4A state tournament.

The Indians fell in the first round of state to Iowa City High, ending their season with a 26-13 record.
