pleasantville-3

Continuing our top 10 countdown of the best sports stories at Pleasantville during the 2021-2022 school year, our #5 moment is claimed by yet another record-breaking season, this time from Malorie McKinney.

McKinney broke all three of the Trojans’ girls’ basketball programs blocks records over the course of her final season at Pleasantville. In a January 25th matchup with Chariton the senior broke Pleasantville’s career blocks record with 149, before going on to record an additional 30 blocks to finish with 179 in her four years. McKinney would save her best for last, however. In the Trojans’ first round regional matchup with Central Decatur on February 15th, McKinney recorded a staggering nine blocks. Not only did those nine blocks break the Pleasantville school record for most blocks in a single game, but also gave her 88 on the season which broke the single season record.
