Counting down the top 10 moments of the Indianola athletics year of 2021-22, continuing with number 4.
The Indianola softball team was in dire straits in their regional semifinal contest against an upstart North Polk team, trailing nearly the entire contest and falling behind 7-4 going into the bottom of the 7th inning. After the Comets changed pitchers, the Indians began to find some of their only offense of the contest, finding hit after hit. Five singles and a walk punctuated the Indians scoring four runs in the bottom of the inning to save their season, with RBI hits from Jordyn Gripp and Izzy Sloan, and Hanna Graham getting the final two-run single to left to win the game.

The Indians went on to defeat Glenwood 12-2 in the regional final to qualify for the class 4A state tournament.
