The #4 moment for Knoxville for the school year comes just over a month ago. On July 1st the Knoxville Baseball Squad needed two wins over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont just to tie for the South Central Conference title. It had been a challenging week for the Panthers after losing a couple of games that signaled that maybe they were running out of gas. The Panthers took game one of the double header 4-2 and then needed to win game two. Beau Leisure stepped to the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning with the game tied at two, and crushed a three run home run to win the game and force a tie between the Panthers and EBF for the conference title. Leisure helped the Panthers get to that position by getting the win in game one and helping set up the nightcap. Coach Turner Devore told KNIA/KRLS Sports he was happy with the outcome and how his guys persevered through a tough stretch of the season

Devore: “He has the ability to do what he did. I was happy for the kids when they responded to the late season and to win a bunch of games that they needed to win, and for Beau to cap off the night how we needed.”

Knoxville would go on to finish 20-and-13 on the season losing to Pella in the first round of the class 3A substate.
