One of three defending Little Hawkeye Conference champions returns to the volleyball court in the league tonight in a new-look conference as they head to Norwalk.

Pella (4-3 overall) opened the new fall with a sweep of Fairfield before going 3-3 Saturday at the Skip Anderson Classic in Bondurant. The Dutch and Warriors have been competitive in recent years, splitting their last four matchups and both going more than four sets in 2021 and 2020, although Pella leads the all-time series 16-5.

Competition begins at 7:00 this evening in Norwalk.

The Pella swimmers with the NCMP Aquagirls are also in action today for their second meet of the year, this time at Hoover. The group defeated Grinnell 158-23 and Williamsburg 156-29 last week, with multiple-time state qualifier from Pella, Maylei Ruggles, winning in the 100 butterfly and participating in several relays. Fellow Seniors Ellie Wogen and Emily Vander Molen, as well as Freshman Evelyn Munk, are also Dutch representatives with the Aquagirls and currently compete in JV. Hear from Wogen and Vander Molen on this week’s KNIA/KRLS Radio Sports Page.
