The Norwalk volleyball team opened Little Hawkeye Conference play Tuesday night with a 3-0 sweep of the Pella Dutch, winning 25-16, 25-21, 25-14 to improve to 4-1 overall.

Unofficial stat leaders for the Warriors included Noelle Sutcliffe with 11 kills and two aces, Sami Aagard seven kills and three blocks, and Ava Johnson five kills and two aces.

Pella, now 4-4 overall, got eight kills and four blocks from Bryn Higginbotham, six kills from Mia Warner and five kills and an ace by Katie Scheckel.

Norwalk will play five matches Thursday at the ADM Invitational in Adel.

GOLF

The Norwalk boys golf team finished sixth out of 19 teams at Tuesday’s Fort Dodge Invitational at the Fort Dodge Country Club. The Warriors posted a team score of 319 and were led by Cael Sherwood’s round of 78.

SWIMMING

Norwalk sophomore Emma Sizemore and senior Shae Drymon both played a big part in the Des Moines Lincoln girls swim team’s two wins at Fort Dodge on Tuesday. The Rails defeated Southeast Polk 52-50 and topped Fort Dodge 58-43. Sizemore’s top event was the 500-yard freestyle. Sizemore and Drymon were both part of the team’s 400-yard freestyle relay.
