Several programs provided by Marion County Public Health will soon be administered by another agency.

Kim Dorn, Director of Marion County Public Health, tells KNIA/KRLS News, “Changes will be taking place with WIC and Maternal Health. It also includes Child Health and Oral Health. All of these programs will be going to American Home Findings.”

American Home Findings is based  in Ottumwa.

As previously reported, the American Home Finding Association is coming to Marion County to provide Women, Infants and Children programming and other services previously provided by Marion County Public Health. It was previously announced that the program would be located in the Raceway Strip Mall next to HyVee in Knoxville, and that clinics would begin October 5. However, Katy Gottschalk, Health & Human Resources Director with the American Home Finding Association, tells KNIA/KRLS News while they eventually hope to be housed in that location, that might not happen until November. They are currently seeking an alternative site for the October 5 opening.
