Indianola Football Hosts Pella

The Indianola football team hosts Little Hawkeye Conference rivals Pella in a non-district clash tonight, as the Indians look to maintain their perfect non-district record to start the season. The Indians dispatched Ankeny Centennial and Glenwood to start the season by building on early second half multi-score leads only to see both teams mount comeback attempts and nearly get back into the game. Indianola has been led by a fierce ground game so far, averaging 200 yards per game in the rushing attack behind running back Matthew Edgington and quarterback Bennett Brueck, and are getting touchdowns through the air with Brueck throwing four to start the season. Head coach Eric Kluver said his squad has done a really good job of complementing their offense both running and passing.

“I’m really pleased with how we’ve been able to run the football so far this year, that was a big question mark coming into the season just with the lack of experience on the offensive line. Those guys have done a really nice job. Now it’s up to the guys to complement each other and go out and make some plays.”

The game can be heard live on the Indianola perspective on 94.3 KNIA, and the Indianola Activities YouTube stream. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30pm, with kickoff at 7pm.
