The Indianola volleyball team stormed through the group stage and earned a spot in the finals at the Southeast Polk Tournament on Saturday, falling just short in the championship round.
The Indians defeated Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln 2-0 (21-16, 21-7), Urbandale 2-0 (21-19, 21-15), Oskaloosa 2-0 (26-24, 25-19), WDM Valley 2-0 (25-19, 25-21), and Cedar Rapids Jefferson 2-0 (22-20, 21-14) before falling to Waukee Northwest in the championship tilt 2-0 (19-25, 15-25). The Indians stellar start to the season continues, as they improve to 15-2, and will next travel to Grinnell on Tuesday.
