The Pleasantville volleyball team traveled to Martensdale St. Mary’s Saturday for a tournament and finished the day going 2-3. The Trojans two wins on the day came in a 2-0 sweep of the host Blue Devils (21-8, 21-16), and a 2-0 sweep of West Central Conference foe Earlham (21-9, 21-9). Two of the three matches Pleasantville dropped were 2-0 sweeps to fellow conference opponent Van Meter (9-21, 16-21) and Southeast Warren (15-21, 19-21). The Trojans fell in their only 3 set match with Southeast Valley (20-22, 21-14, 13-15). Pleasantville is back in action Tuesday as the #6 seed in the first ever West Central Conference tournament, facing the #11 seed Interstate 35 at Van Meter High School at 5 p.m.
