With just two seniors departing the Knoxville Volleyball Squad this fall, the Panthers could have the tools needed to make a deep postseason run next fall. Knoxville will need to look for a Libero and an extra hitter with the departures of Emma Dunkin and Melanie Sullivan. Coach Mollie Keitges tells KNIA/KRLS Sports there is a lot of younger talent that will return along with experienced leadership for 2023.

Keitges: “They freshman just improved a ton, so I”m of how they improved, and we have an 8th grade group that’s really good, and we have a lot of great leadership returning.”

The Panthers had a few younger players to get playing time this season in sophomore Rylyn McCarty, who had 26 kills and was 2nd on the team with 35 blocks, sophomore Payton Horn, who came in the 2nd half of the season as she ended up with 75 kills and had 30 blocks. Also Hannah Dunkin and a few freshmen this season and the Panther coaching staff will have difficult decisions before the first serve of the season in 2023.
