In honor of Veterans Day, flags will be raised at Graceland Cemetery at 7 a.m. Thursday. There will be a brief memorial ceremony at the Veteran’s Plot after the flag raising.

.Michael Kuhn, who is in charge of Marion County Veterans Affairs, tells KNIA/KRLS News about the tradition of honoring veterans. 

“The flags are down toward the end of the cemetery down at the end of the Avenue of Flags.”

Flags will be taken down at 3 p.m. Monday, November 14th. The American Legion, VFW, Boy and Girl Scouts will all participate in the event honoring the veterans.

There will be a free breakfast at the VFW for all participants following the ceremony.
