Twin Cedars Athlete Rylee Dunkin has always had a dream of playing softball in college. That dream took a major step forward on Wednesday when she put pen to paper and signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball at Upper Iowa University on National Signing Day. Dunkin told KNIA/KRLS Sports Upper Iowa checked off all of the boxes on her list.

Dunkin: “When I went up there, it felt like home to me, it’s a small school just like where I’m from, and I liked the coaches and players, and they have an unique course schedule that really interested me, and I’m glad to go up there.”

Dunkin helped lead the Sabers to the class 1A State Softball Championship last summer. She led the Sabers in steals with 33 and was one of the top hitters for Twin Cedars, who was top in the state in class 1A with a team .401 batting average. Upper Iowa University is an NCAA Division two school and is currently a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
