Adding to her postseason accolades this fall, Pella Christian sophomore volleyball player Chloe Huisman was selected to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association’s Class 2A All-State Third Team.

Huisman was also selected to Class 2A Central All-District team and was a First-Team All-Little Hawkeye Conference honoree. The sophomore ended the season with 77 service aces, which was the third most in 2A, and was 14th in the class with 768 assists. Huisman also contributed 82 kills for the Eagles this season, the fifth most among the top 20 setters. Pella Christian head coach Tammi Wight appreciates the versatility that Huisman brings to the team and believes she will continue to get better in her final two seasons on Eagle Lane.

“She really could play any position for us, but she’s a phenomenal setter and I’ve seen her improve a ton over the last year just in how she runs our floor and kind of is the captain of our floor. She works hard, she works hard in the offseason, she works hard in the weight room, and I look forward to seeing how much she grows in the offseason.”

Pella Christian posted a 25-15 overall record, good enough for a .625 winning percentage, the programs best mark since the 2016-2017 season.
