How do you possibly replace a three year varsity player that scored 950 career points and was the do-everything player for your team? Well you really cannot, but the Twin Cedars Boys Basketball Squad will try to make up for the hole left after Devin Arkema graduated last year. First year Head Coach Mateo Varese tells KNIA/KRLS Sports you do it with another Arkema. Varese says Kail Arkema will be given the keys to the leadership role and feels he is ready.
Varese: “This year Kail is leading the team and seeing how Devin was as a leader and it’ll be big for him to decide when to score and when to give the ball away to his teammates.”
Kasey Clark and Aiden Hare are two more seniors that Varese will rely on for leadership and scoring. Twin Cedars hit the court for the first time on Tuesday traveling to Wayne.
