The Indianola boys wrestling won the Bob Murphy Invitational at West Delaware High School Saturday scoring 240 team points, the Indianola boys swimming team placed 2nd at the Newton Cardinal Invite with 293 points, and the girls wrestling team placed third in the Newton Girls Cardinal Classic with 104 points.

The Indians wrestling team had top finishes from Jensen Dyer at 113lbs, Bowen Downey at 120lbs, Cael Meacham at 138lbs, and Jake Pontier at 145lbs, while Carson Cooper at 106lbs, Dax Clatt at 170lbs, and Isaiah Kellow at 182lbs all placed 2nd. The Indians will next wrestle Thursday hosting rival Dallas Center-Grimes.

The Indianola boys swimming team had their 11-year run of first place finishes snapped Saturday at the Newton Cardinal Invite, falling just short of first place Decorah. The Indians got first place finishes in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke from Nathan Pollard, and the 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relay teams. Ethan Russell placed 2nd in the 200 Freestyle, and Henry Picard placed 1st in the 100 Backstroke. Indianola will next swim on Saturday at Grinnell. Find full results of the meet below.

The Indianola girls wrestlers fell just short of first place Newton and second place Lewis Central in their meet. The Indians top performers on the day included first place finishes from Nina Alexander at 120lbs, Callie Chapman at 125lbs, Summer Wolff at 135lbs, Reagan Sher at 140B, Jazelle Smith at 190B, and Lanie Fredericks at 235B. Andrea Taylor placed second at 145lbs. The Indians will hit the mats again Thursday with the boys hosting Dallas Center-Grimes.
