indianola-8

The Indianola boys basketball team is 2-0 to start the season after defeating Southeast Polk and Newton on their home court, and the winning ways comes from an incredible start shooting the ball.

The Indians are shooting 56.8% from the field and a blistering 52.4% from beyond the arc, and are doing so shooting much fewer three’s than last year. In 2021-22, the Indians went 17-5 on the season and shot an average of 22 three’s per game. This season, the Indians are shooting half that, taking 10.5 shots from beyond the arc per contest. Head coach Jeff Ebling said the Indians are taking better shots because the defense can’t come off of anyone, and provides more opportunities inside for cuts and drives.

The Indians will next play Friday hosting Oskaloosa.
