The Simpson College Athletic Department introduced new football coach Reed Hoskins Tuesday, after the college announced the hire Monday evening after a month-long search. Athletic Director Marty Bell tells KNIA Sports during the interview and selection process, the positive feedback from the selection committee, the players, and the references all continued to point one way.

“The needle just kept pointing back to Reed. He is the best fit person for the job, to stabilize our current situation and build long term success. That’s what our program needs, that’s what our program deserves, that’s what those before this time that forged that tradition deserve, and I’m confident we have found the right person to do just that.”

Bell also said there were over 80 applicants for the job, and he wanted to get the process done quickly so the coaching staff can be put together and recruiting can get started.
