The Indianola girls basketball team is 5-2 on the season, and is currently ranked 9th in the latest rankings from the IGHSAU. On the way to the 5-2 record, the Indians have faced multiple top teams so far, including Southeast Polk and Ankeny which are both highly ranked in class 5A, and have taken down Norwalk and 8th ranked Carlisle.

Head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports there were a lot of things to learn over the first seven games of the season, but they grew as a team and did everything they needed to do to win, which is exactly what he wanted.

The Indians have a gauntlet of a schedule to begin 2023, including at Grinnell, vs Dallas Center-Grimes, and home vs Johnston.
