The Knoxville School Board met Monday evening.

The board approved the 2023-2024 school calendar with the last day of school being May 22 . An overnight trip request was approved for Mason Hatch for a vocal festival at Luther College. The board considered a proposal on Ipads which were approved for refreshing the 2,040 Ipads the school currently uses. The board looked at a resolution on approving Apple Financial lease and lease documents and approved them as well.

An Iowa National Guard event is scheduled for January 17th with a Blackhawk or CH-47 Chinook Helicopter from the Iowa Army National Guard being on hand.

The board also considered E-Rate Internet Service Provider which was approved for a 5-year agreement with Mediacom, their current provider. The board approved a Concession Stand Agreement for upgrades.

The 2022 Washington DC trip for the eighth and ninth grade students was discussed with four students talking about their favorite part of the trip, ranging from the American History Museum, WW II Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and the Holocaust Museum.

An incentive program for early retirement was discussed and approved, among other matters.
