The Indianola boys swimming team has one of their last tune-up meets before postseason begins tonight hosting Marshalltown, while the Indianola girls and boys basketball teams travel to Oskaloosa for a conference doubleheader.

The Indians are coming off of a strong performance at the Little Hawkeye Conference meet hosted at the Indianola YMCA last week, and will face a Marshalltown team that is currently 17th in the power rankings in the state, while Indianola sits at 20th. The meet starts tonight at 5:30pm.

The #11 Indians girls have faced a gauntlet of a schedule over the first month of 2023, including facing six ranked teams in class 4A/5A out of eight games. Indianola will look to replicate their first matchup with Osky, a 47-40 grinding win where they held Oskaloosa to just 29% shooting and forced 13 turnovers.

The #6 Indians boys are undefeated in conference play at 8-0, a full three games ahead of three teams tied for second place with only six games remaining. The Indians have not dropped a beat without one of their top players lost to injury in Drew Kingery, as they have gone 5-1 over that stretch and are going for the season sweep over Oskaloosa after winning 63-36 the first time around. Head coach Jeff Ebling tells KNIA Sports the team has grown during this time and confidence is growing with this group, and he trusts every player to succeed with whatever may be asked of them.

The games will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 6pm, with tip-off at 6:15.
