Three Pella girls wrestlers were able to navigate the first-ever Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Super Regionals to earn state qualifying bids Friday at the Iowa Events Center. Emmalee Spurgeon was a bracket runner-up at 155 lbs., Elaine Babcock was a 3rd place finisher at 190, and Isabella Smith rallied from an early loss to claim 4th at 110 as the placements earned all three athletes spots at the first sanctioned girls state wrestling tournament next Thursday and Friday in Coralville.
