The Bluegrass Conference released its all-basketball conference. From Twin Cedars, on the 1st team was Rylee Dunkin, who averaged 10.2 points per game and led the Sabers with 67 assists and 72 steals. On the 2nd team was Cheyanne Bruns. Bruns led the Sabers scoring 12 points per game and made a team leading 47 three point shots on the season. Along with Bruns on the 2nd team was Kisha Reed. She was a rebounding force gathering 246 this season, which was 18th in the state in class 1A. Earning honorable mention was Cristen Durian. The sophomore grabbed 131 rebounds for the 14-8 Sabers. From Melcher-Dallas on the girls 1st team was Addi Wadle. Wadle was the Saints’ engine this season averaging 14.4 points per game. She also had 68 assists, and 40 steals. Kasyn Reed received honorable mention. Reed led the Saints with 201 rebounds. Melcher-Dallas also finished with a 13-11 record, which was the first winning season in 13 seasons. On the boys side…Twin Cedars freshman Holden Roberts earned honorable mention. Roberts averaged 13.6 points per game, helping the Sabers to a 5-16 record. For Melcher-Dallas, Owen Suntken was a unanimous choice for the 1st team. Suntken averaged 21.7 points per game. He also racked up 236 rebounds and had 110 blocks, which not only was tops in the Bluegrass Conference, but 2nd in the state in 2A…and also 2nd in the state regardless of class. Earning second team was Logan Godfrey, who averaged 11.9 points per game. Earning honorable mention was Chase Ripperger. The senior grabbed 65 rebounds and dealt out 64 assists. The boys finished 11-11 this season.
