The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad made significant improvements this past season, going 11-10, doubling their win total from last season, and being in the South Central Conference race right to the end. However, all of those wins were in conference play, meaning the Panthers went 0-7 in non-conference games. While the non-conference is always difficult for the Panthers, playing a combination of Little Hawkeye Conference, Raccoon River Conference and an always competitive PCM. Coach Troy Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports they want to win those games next season and maybe even double their win total from this year.

Pearson: “Looking into next year, I told the kids, we doubled our win total from the previous year, and we can double our wins from this year. I know that’s a reach, and is that an attainable goal, I don’t know, but we’re going to have a goal of winning every game.”

The Panthers will likely keep the same teams in non-conference next season knowing that schools from the Little Hawkeye and Raccoon River Conferences provide great competition and let his team have a measuring stick.
