The Warren and Marion County Treasurer’s Offices could possibly see extra fees being collected for handling non-resident driver’s license applications. State Representative Brooke Boden tells KNIA News the offices would receive an extra $10 fee from those who are using the office as a service rather than using the one where they live, and will help the offices potentially hire extra staff to handle the extra work.

“Customers will pay that extra $10, and that will help our communities especially in Marion and Warren Counties as they have an influx of those coming out of Des Moines. It will help pay for the staffing and what it takes to run those driver’s license stations. I would really like to see this move onto the House Floor.”

The bill has yet to hit he floor, and Representative Boden recommends contacting your elected officials if you would like to have the bill passed.
