Kicking off the spring sports season on Eagle Lane, the Pella Christian track and field teams head to Grinnell tonight for the Little Hawkeye Conference Indoor Meet.

Despite featuring a lot of youth on the team this year, the Eagles expect to continue their strong tradition of success on the track. Pella Christian qualified nine events at the State Meet last spring and are hopeful to send even more athletes this year. While the Eagles have that goal in mind entering tonight, head coach Keith Anderson believes the indoor meet will help the team progress throughout the season.

“I don’t want to diminish the meets in March and April, but we’re eyeing May, we’re eyeing what that State Qualifying Meet looks like, and then getting those events up to State and seeing what they can do up there. But I just want kids to progress throughout the season. I want them to get better. So, we’ll definitely celebrate the individual victories along the way, so to speak.”

The Little Hawkeye Conference Indoor Meet at the Bear Athletic Center in Grinnell begins this evening at 4 p.m.
