A new, yet familiar face is prepared to begin his first season as the head coach of the Pella Christian boys golf team.

Kent Breems, who has served as an assistant coach for the last few seasons, is the new leader of the Eagles golf program. He takes over a team that returns all but one varsity athlete from last season’s squad that finished sixth at the District Meet. With a passion for golf and coaching, Breems says he is excited to begin his first season atop the Pella Christian golf program.

“I love playing golf. I’ve loved coaching, helping out coaching some basketball boys and girls AAU stuff over the years and love having an impact on kids and getting to know them and and being involved in that type of thing. And having my own children, it’s a good way to spend time with them as well outside of their in season sports, so it’s been good to be involved in that way. So, very much looking forward to this season and excited to get going here.”

The Eagles boys golf team begins their season on Friday in the Saydel Spring Golf Tournament at Woodland Hills Golf Course.
