The Indianola girls golf team got their season started at Briarwood Golf Course in Ankeny on Monday, ending with a third place finish, while the Indians boys tennis team swept Knoxville 11-0.

The girls golfers placed third with a score of 381, with Camryn Overton carding an 84 in the ten-team meet to place fifth overall. Amelia Moorlach shot a 93 and Reese Lucas shot a 95 to round out the Indians top performers, and head coach Rita Doane said even though the team is younger this year, she expects to contend in every meet they are in. Indianola will next golf Thursday at Newton.

The Indians boys tennis team had their best performance of the season, with Joe Comer, Michael Rothchild, Erik Jensen, Kael Christiansen, Nate Winjum, and Justus Woell all winning in singles matches, while the doubles pairings of Comer and Rothchild, Jensen and Christiansen, Winjum and Woell, Kinnick Werling and Ben Mahlstadt, and Eli Chadwick and Blake Byers all won in straight sets. The Indians improve to 2-5 on the season, and will next hit the court today hosting Oskaloosa.
