The Pella Community School District has announced Josh Manning will be the new principal at Pella High School. Manning has been the principal at Pella Middle School since 2011, and will start with the 9-12 grade role in July. Current Pella High School Principal Adam Beckel submitted his resignation to pursue other opportunities in March, and will continue until the end of June.

Manning is married to wife Jessica (currently a counselor at Pella High) and has three sons: Michael (9th grade), Samuel (7th grade), and Emmett (5th grade). He has served as a principal previously in the Oskaloosa and Waukee School Districts.

“We are very pleased that Josh has accepted this new role at the high school,” Superintendent Greg Ebeling said. “The leadership that he has provided at the middle school the last twelve years has made a difference for our district. I anticipate his leadership will make a great impact at the high school as well.”

Manning’s statement:
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as principal at Pella High School. The opportunity and challenge this role presents are invigorating, and I’m excited to get to know and work with the Pella High School staff. Leaving Pella Middle School after 12 years was not an easy decision for my family and me, because I love the staff and students, and there are great things happening there. I am confident the middle school’s momentum will continue. I’m honored to continue working with the students, staff, and our community in this journey of preparing Pella students to be great citizens who are college, career, and life ready.”

The search for Manning’s replacement will begin immediately.
