The Indianola girls golf team competed in Ames Tuesday, while the Indians girls track and field team was at Saydel for a meet.

The girls golfers finished in 8th place at Veenker Golf Course in Ames shooting a team score of 423 at the competitive meet. The Indians were led by an 18th place finish from Camryn Overton who shot a 98, Reese Lucas was 29th carding a 105, Amelia Moorlach was just a shot behind at 106 finishing in 33rd, and Abbie Corbett was 57th shooting a 116. Head coach Rita Doane said the team needs to improve their short game in order to get the lower scores, they are all good at driving the ball long distances but it is their short game that will determine their placement at the end of the season.

The girls track and field team was 2nd at Saydel scoring 122 team points. Josie McGraw was a 1st place finisher in the 100m Hurdles, along with Emily Naughton in the 800m, and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay Team all earning gold. Jordyn Brown was 2nd in the 1500m, and the 4×400 and Distance Medley Relays both finished in the silver spot as well. Third place finishes included Gracie Foster in the 1500m, Taylor Hoger in the 3000m, and Lauren Olson in the 100m Hurdles. The Indians will next send athletes to compete in the Drake Relays this weekend.
