The Indianola girls soccer team won their first round regional game against Marshalltown Friday night 2-0, while the baseball team got back in the win column with a 10-0 win over Des Moines Roosevelt.

The girls soccer squad got a goal from Angelika Miller with an assist from Aubrey Edgington, following by a goal from Brianne Cornell with Rylee Burns getting the assist, as the Indians defense was dominant all throughout the contest. They advance to the regional semifinal on the road at Johnston on Tuesday.

The baseball squad got the dominant shutout over the Roughriders, scoring three runs in each of the first two innings, then added a pair in the third to go ahead 8-0, before scoring a run in the fourth and fifth innings to get to 10-0 and end the game early. Daniel Kuebler got the win, striking out five in four innings, while Bennett Brueck went 2-4 at the plate with a double, a homerun, and three runs batted in, while Brady Blake also hit a homerun. They are now 2-1 on the season, and will next play Monday hosting Creston.
