
The Indianola boys soccer team competes in the substate semifinals tonight looking to upset Dallas Center-Grimes, while the Indianola softball team begins their season and the baseball team continues their non-conference schedule all on Monday evening.
The Indians defeated Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln in the first round, and will have to try and avenge a 5-0 loss to the Mustangs the squad suffered back in April, where they gave up four goals in the first half. Action begins at 7:30pm.
The Indians baseball team hosts Creston for a non-conference matchup, trying to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Indians only loss was to powerhouse Johnston by one run, and dominated Ottumwa and Des Moines Roosevelt. First pitch is at 7:30pm.
And the Indianola softball team begins their 2023 campaign tonight, facing off with Warren County rival Carlisle. The Indians bring back the majority of their state-qualifying team from last year, while Carlisle is much in the same situation, after a run to the semifinals. The game will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 7:15, with first pitch at 7:30pm.
