Pella Christian Boys Golf Competes at State Monday
The Class 2A #7 ranked Pella Christian boys golf team competes in the State Meet on Monday for the first time in 22 years.
The Eagles have competed against just two of the other eight teams to qualify for State. Pella Christian played against Des Moines Christian three times in the regular season and finished runner-up to #1 ranked Beckman Catholic in the District Meet to qualify for State on May 15th. While the Eagles are excited to be at State, Isaiah Breems believes the team has a chance at a State Title in Ames.
“Yeah, it’s really exciting to see our group play together because when we all play to our full potential, we can shoot really low scores. That’s how we set the school record at Knoxville, we all put together a good round there. And that’s really uplifting and exciting to see and it gives us hope and we know we have a chance at it.”
Pella Christian plays at the Coldwater Golf Links in Ames Monday and Tuesday. First tee-times on Monday are at 10:30 a.m., while Tuesday’s action gets underway at 9 a.m.
