As the sun set on the Blue Oval at Drake Stadium, the final round of the postseason begins for the boys and girls from the Dutch on the pitch.

Tonight, #12 in 3A Pella travels to take on #16 Cedar Rapids Washington in a rematch from earlier this season. The Dutch boys defeated the Warriors 4-0 on April 15th. Pella is seeking its 3rd consecutive state tournament bid and 8th all time, and await the winner of #2 Hoover and West Marshall on Wednesday if they advance past tonight’s matchup. The Pella/Cedar Rapids Washington contests starts at 5:30 this evening at Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids.

Pella’s #4 ranked girls soccer team is poised for a deep run in the postseason, and start the regional semifinals Tuesday after a first round bye, hosting Carlisle. The Dutch defeated the Wildcats 6-0 on April 13th. Pella has its eyes set on a 14th ever trip to the state tournament and first since 2019. They would need to advance past Thursday’s Regional Final vs. Burlington or Fort Madison if they are victorious tomorrow. The match with Carlisle begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Pella High School.
