The City of Indianola Hillcrest Ave project has begun, a partnership with the Iowa DOT to expand the industrial area to the east side of Highway 65/69. Public Works Director Akhilesh “AP” Pal tells KNIA News the multi-year project will have many construction workers and equipment in the area which may cause delays, so he asks that commuters take extra time to get to their destination and be mindful of the extra vehicles on the road when driving through that area.

“Know where you are going, plan ahead, look for detour signs and make sure when planning you take some extra time for your commute. When you are going on that road what you are used to will eventually have a road closure. So if you plan ahead to know where the detours are, follow them, and make sure you are driving cautiously. Also be careful of the work zone construction areas.”
