It took one hour for the #5 in 4A Indianola softball team to defeat the Pella girls of summer in a 12-0, three-inning victory heard live on 92.1 KRLS Friday. The road team used aggressive base running to take advantage of shaky Dutch defense to score five runs in the first inning. Jordyn Gripp and Kiley Kindelspire each had home runs to help further press the attack. Pella was only able to get two baserunners on in three innings before the mercy rule ended festivities after. Indianola improves to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference, and will head to the Valley tournament today; Pella falls to 3-5 and they’ll head to Oskaloosa for an invitational late this morning.
