The PCM softball team was dominant in a 13-1 four inning road victory at Nevada Friday night, while the Mustangs baseball team escaped with an 8-7 road victory against the Cubs.

Using nine hits, six walks, and an error to plate 13 runs, the PCM softball squad improved to 7-4 on the season and 6-2 in the Heart of Iowa Conference. Joslin Briles was a perfect 2-for-2 on the night with a home run and five RBIs, while sisters Paige and Addison Steenhoek combined to go 4-for-6 at the plate with four runs batted in. Rylee Parsons secured her seventh win in the circle, allowing just one run on six hits and three walks while striking out three. 

The PCM baseball team trailed 2-1 after the first four frames but claimed their first lead with four runs in the top of the fifth inning. The Cubs would score three runs between the fifth and sixth innings to tie the game going into the final frame. The Mustangs plated three runs in the top of the seventh and held Nevada to just two runs in the bottom of the frame to grab the win. Nick Farver was dealt a no-decision while striking out nine in the game, while Kaleb DeVries struck out two in relief to earn the win. Trigg Steenhoek hit a solo homerun for his first of the season to help PCM improve to 7-6 overall and 6-2 in the conference.

The Mustangs summer sports teams have the weekend off before hosting Saydel for single conference games on Monday night.
