indianola-8

Seniors will be honored tonight for both the Indianola baseball and softball teams as they welcome Oskaloosa for a pair of doubleheaders tonight in Little Hawkeye Conference play.

The Indians softball team is looking to rebound after dropping four of their last five games, and will look to replicate an 8-0 victory on the road over Osky from early June where they held Osky to just one hit.

The Indians baseball team is also looking to get back on track after dropping a crucial conference game against Dallas Center-Grimes on Monday, and had trouble in their 7-5 win over Osky on the road, a game that required seven innings to complete after the Indians defense committed four errors in the field leading to a pair of unearned runs. Head coach Jon Fitzpatrick tells KNIA Sports the Indians at their best are playing clean defense, using their pitching depth to their advantage, and putting pressure on defenses by using their speed on the basepaths.

Game two of the baseball doubleheader will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at approximately 7:15, with first pitch scheduled for 7:30pm.
