While the Pella Christian baseball team was supposed to find out their quarterfinal round opponent for Class 2A Substate 6 on Saturday, rain has forced them to wait until Monday.

The Eagles, who earned a first round bye as the two-seed, will host the winner of third-seeded Centerville and sixth-seeded Cardinal on Wednesday. The Big Reds and Comets played against one another three times in the month of June during the regular season. Centerville swept Cardinal on Thursday in a doubleheader to win all three games between the two schools in 2023.

On the other side of the Substate 7, District 12 bracket, Eddyville-Blakesburg Fremont used a walk-off walk in the bottom of the 11th inning Saturday night to down Davis County. The Rockets will face top-seeded Central Decatur for a spot in the substate semifinals Wednesday.

Pella Christian will host both Class 2A Substate 7, District 12 games on Wednesday. Central Decatur and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont will play first at 5 p.m., with the Eagles game against either Centerville or Cardinal following at 7 p.m.
