The Indianola softball team wrapped up their regular season Monday with a 13-3 win over Ottumwa in just five innings, while the baseball team went 2-0 in a tournament at Fort Dodge walking off Sioux City East 3-2 and blowing out the host Dodgers 15-4.

The Indians softball team fell behind 1-0 after the top of the first inning, then scored 10 unanswered over the next three innings to take control against the Bulldogs, that included a six-run third inning highlighted by a Kyra Robins three-run homerun. Ottumwa scored two in the top of the fifth to cut the lead down, but the Indians answered back with three in the bottom of the inning to end the game early with a Kiley Kindelspire homerun. The Indians end their regular season with a record of 25-11, and await their opponent in the regional semifinal on Saturday.

The Indians baseball team used late-game heroics to defeat the Black Raiders. Indianola fell behind 2-1 after the third inning, and that score held until the bottom of the seventh where they scored twice to earn the walk-off victory. In game two, Indianola dominated Fort Dodge scoring eight runs in the first two innings to take an 8-3 lead, then scored another seven runs combined in the fourth and fifth innings to get back on the road early. Indianola is now 26-9 on the season, and hosts North Polk tomorrow.
