A loaded top 10 countdown of stories from Pella High School in 2022-23 takes us to Drake Stadium for the first time, and catches up in the middle of what is considered the greatest single season in a rich program history for the Dutch track and field teams.

Chase Lauman became the first ever Pella High School runner to win a Drake Relays banner on the track with a victory in the 3200 meters on April 27th. To that point in the season, Lauman had been dominant, qualifying for the 800, 1600, and 3200 races in his first three appearances of the season respectively. Lauman had a big final lap kick to get across the line first in a close back-and-forth with Gabe Nash of Sioux City North.

Chase went on to place 2nd in two more close races in the 800 meters and 1600 meters during the weekend, setting the stage for something that will certainly be on the countdown next week.
