The Melcher-Dallas Cross Country Squad had two runners compete at Albia for their Saints season opener on Monday. Hailey Stegman placed 19th in a time of 23:16. Coach Amy Stuart told KNIA Sports that Stegman ran a smart race, was patient and worked her way into the top 20 and was a minute faster than last year’s Albia meet. Boys runner Austin Remster placed 98th in a time of 26:45. Stuart added Remster had a good debut as a freshman. The Saints head to Wayne on Thursday.
