The Pleasantville football team will host the Lynnville-Sully Hawks tonight.

The Trojans are now 2-0 on the season coming off a win last Friday against Woodward-Granger. Pleasantville running back Caleb Cook scored three times in the game to bring his touchdown total to eight on the year. The Trojan defense also came up with three big interceptions in the 28-14 victory.

Pleasantville will now face their last and toughest non-district opponent in Lynnville-Sully on Friday night. The Hawks are 2-0 on the season and have won their first two games in commanding fashion, defeating Danville 54-13 and North Mahaska 48-0. Last year, the Hawks made it to the state semifinals.

Pleasantville Head Football Coach Mack Jorth talked about the tough opponent they will be facing tonight.

“It’s going to be a phenomenal matchup. A phenomenal team comes in Friday. They’re rated number two for a reason. You watch them on film and the athleticism and the aggression, just the motors that some of their guys have. They are just flying to the football all over the place. Getting off blocks all over the place. Really playing great aggressive team defense and they’re going to be tough.”

Tonight’s game against Lynnville-Sully starts at 7:00 pm.
