Hoping to gain momentum for the final few matches of the regular season, the Knoxville Volleyball Squad finished runner up with a 2-1 record at the Pella Quad on Saturday. The Panthers swept class 1A #3 Holy Trinity 25-20 and 25-10. Knoxville fell to class 5A #6 West Des Moines Valley in two close sets 25/22 and 25/22 before winding up the day with a win over Pella in three sets 23-25, 25-13 and 18-16. During the quad Brittany Bacorn reached the 1,000 assists mark making her the only player in program history that has amassed 1,000 kills, digs, and assists in their career. Knoxville is 21-8 this season and will host Chariton on Tuesday with a chance to clinch the outright South Central Conference title.
