
The Pleasantville boys wrestling team competed at Nodaway Valley on Saturday, while the girls team competed in Newton.
The Pleasantville boys finished third as a team at the Coach Riley Invitational at Nodaway Valley. Tommy Booth, Zane Mullenix, and Carter Metcalf all finished first at the tournament in their respective weight classes. Tanner Booth, Blake Rowson, and Caleb Cook finished second at the tournament while Kurt Kuhnen finished third. Silas Koening, Colton Miller, and Carson Ammons also placed on the day. Pleasantville wrestling coach Heath DeForest tells KNIA/KRLS sports that he was very happy with the way his team progressed from Thursday. Deforest said he had a few kids out with injury or illness and he is looking forward to them being back in the lineup to see what the Trojans can do at full strength.
The Pleasantville girls finished 11th at the Newton Cardinal classic with 58 total team points. Ella Clark finished third at 110 pounds, and Madilyn Rowson also finished third at 155 pounds. Other place finishes for the Trojan girls were Addie Koenig at fourth, Maggie Gasparovich at seventh, and Emma Ellis at eighth.
The Pleasantville boys will next compete Monday at Pella, and the girls will be back in action on December 11th at Saydel.
