indianola-8

The Indianola girls basketball team has had one of the toughest schedules in the state so far, playing multiple ranked teams in class 4A and 5A in the 2023 portion of the slate. There is no reprieve coming in 2024, as they will come out of the gate going against #1 in class 4A Dallas Center-Grimes on Friday, January 5th, then on the road at #1 Johnston the very next day. Later on in the schedule includes a rematch with the #1 Mustangs, another matchup with ranked Norwalk, and yet another one vs #2 in class 4A Clear Creek-Amana in non-conference action.

Head coach Jeff Janssen tells KNIA Sports iron sharpens iron, and while this stretch of games has been difficult to get through and will only get harder, they are preparing themselves for the tough games in February for postseason play, and they hope they come out better than ever.

The Indians are currently 2-7 on the season, and 2-1 in conference play.
