team-4

Another game in 2024, and another huge South Central Conference game for the Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad. After knocking off Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Tuesday in a hard-fought three point win the Panthers now turn their attention to Albia. Like the Panthers and the Rockets, all three have the same 5-1 conference record, so tonight the three-way logjam atop the conference and Knoxville is hoping to be one of the two remaining teams with just one loss. While the Blue Demons lost a lot of punch from last season’s squad, they have returned to be strong out of the gates and are 5-2 this season. Knoxville Junior Player Landen Norris, who is coming off a 20 point performance on Tuesday tells KNIA/KRLS Sports, Albia will provide a challenge but he is confident it will be in Knoxville’s favor.

Norris: “They’re always good on defense. Archer is a good coach, and they have a few kids we’ll keep an eye on.”

For the girls, the Panthers are trying to erase the taste of a two game losing streak, losing their last two games by 24 and 23 points respectively. The Albia girls have had an uneven start to their season at 3-6, while Knoxville is 4-5. Live coverage is on 95.3 KNIA starting with the pregame at 6:15.
